✨ LIFE LATELY ✨

On Friday I hosted Unmuted, my monthly free coaching call where you come, ask questions around what you’re currently working on or the next phase that you’re looking to get to and I give you unfiltered coaching with clear next steps.

The group was small enough that everyone who wanted to ask a question got their time.

Join our next call here.

Every year for dia de los muertos I go all out and build an altar. Ever since we started the renovation and had the plans made for the roof deck, I knew I needed a place for my altar.

This year was my biggest altar yet and it was extra special to be able to share it with friends traveling in from the US and Colombia and having them add their loved ones to the altar.

Next year we’ll start earlier and try for a traditional 7 level altar and even more flowers and candles.

Welcome to the very first issue of The Honest Feed!

The Honest Feed is my newsletter about what’s really going on in social media, selling, and online business.

After 11 years working online these are my honest takes on the trends everyone’s chasing, what actually works, what’s smoke and mirrors, and how to build something real on the internet.

Each issue breaks down what’s happening on social (with a key focus on Instagram), how it impacts the way we sell, and simple ways to grow without losing your voice (or your sanity).

Free readers will still get updates and big news, but The Honest Feed itself is moving to the paid side on Substack so I can keep it honest, sustainable, and community-driven. You can subscribe to my Substack here.

Last week, Meta Platforms rolled out new AI translation tools for Reels where they’re dubbing and lip-syncing videos in Hindi and Portuguese.

On one hand, it sounds inclusive and like another way to get more reach. On the other, it means your unpaid content is being processed, translated, reused, and redistributed so the platform gets global data while you still fight for visibility.

What this means for you:
1️⃣ Posting every day to build consistency isn’t always about your rhythm, it’s about the machine’s input.
2️⃣ When you shift from blaming yourself (why am I not consistent?) to noticing the system (I do not need to feed a machine endlessly, I am human), you take back your power.

→ Your takeaway: Selling from originality means owning how you show up and not letting the algorithm define your “global reach.”

TikTok’s “Shop Tab” is now a built-in marketplace inside the app.

→ Why it matters: The app that used to be a stage for your content is now the store itself. Your brand becomes inventory in a bigger extraction machine.

→ Your takeaway: When you sell, ask: Who owns the checkout? Who owns the data? Who’s platform are you building? I realize that at some point it’s inevitable that unless you’re DIYing everything (straight path to overwhelm and stangancy), you will need to pick a platform. That’s why I am careful with who I give my money to and who I recommend.

Stan Store has consistently shown that they care about us, the entrepreneurs and the creators first. It’s been clear in their mission and it’s clear in how they show up for the community. I never hesitate to recommend them. You can grab your free 14 day trial with my affiliate link here.

Remember, TikTok is finalized a sale agreement with Oracle, Silver Lake Partners (private equity), and Andreesen Horowitz (venture capital) and it’s going to make many of us question whether or not to delete it because of the new T&C’s.

Here are some key updates that will give the government more control:

What this means for us:

  • Less privacy and less predictability with how your activity will be reviewed
  • Content served may be influenced by national-security rather than by user experience
  • If you rely on TikTok for lead generation or sales, you have another layer of risk because of changes in how the platform handles data, notifications or moderation

Flodesk just released new analytics dashboards & overviews of checkouts, workflows and subscriber data.

→ Why it matters: More metrics = more perceived control on our end but also more pressure to “optimize” yourself for someone else’s system.

→ Your takeaway: Use data to serve the story not to run yourself into the algorithm’s hamster wheel. Keep the offer clear and human, not just “what the data wants.”

I trust Flodesk and actively use for my email marketing. It’s your last chance to lock in their unlimited email plan before it ends this month using my code here. It gets you 50% off your first year.

You’ve probably noticed the “make $100K in one launch” messaging all over Instagram.

Instead of hustle-culture language like “grind harder” or “post five times a day,” it’s disguised as “let AI do it for you.”

Scroll your feed and you’ll see the pattern:

Creators promising “passive income while you sleep” but the offer is the same high-pressure course, now automated through ManyChat or ClickFunnels.

Ads saying “I wrote this email in 60 seconds with AI”, which really means the copywriting work has been offloaded to a bot trained on thousands of other coaches’ words.

Carousel posts that say “replace your team with one tool”, selling the fantasy of effort-free marketing when, in reality, someone still has to understand strategy, audience, and story.

That’s not a revolution! It’s the same extraction model in algorithmic clothing.

The promise sounds gentler, but the expectation is the same: produce more, faster, with less rest.

Your move is simple: just slow down and simplify while clarifying what you sell and who it’s for. When you keep your voice unfiltered, it will be unmistakably human.

Selling better doesn’t come from AI doing it for you, it comes from clearer messaging that still sounds like you.

Inside of my mastermind, we teach you how to do this. Book a sales call to talk to me about your business and where you’d like to be in 2026 here. I’ll walk you through exactly how my mastermind can help and how we’ll get you there step-by-step together.
